twin towers city

I have just arrived in Kuala Lumpur for the first time ever.
The drive from the airport to the hotel was tropically beautiful. I'v got lots to see in the few days we've got here, and must pamper myself to the max with all the divine spa treatments.

getaways

do you ever wish you had a place to go to and clear your mind of all the worldly worries and duties ?

somewhere you could just go with the best people in your life to relax.

I think everyone should work up something to re-charge themselves with at the end of every week.

What would your ideal get-away be ?

i heart dc

ah bang me on the head for being such a bad blogger! I have been extremely busy lately with so many things to do;but most of my time and undivided attention is given to my final semester.Yes that's right i'm finally gonna be done. I have already planned on what im willing to do when my life is uni-free. Lets just say there are lots of plans and i'll be happy if I can just fulfill one or two of all.

I decided I had to add a post of my summer photos this year since its become a blog-ritual for moi. I think its just a smart way of archiving my vacations, favorite spots et observations.I've been wanting to do this for so long but never got the chance to upload the photos!crazy, i know. So here it goes.

The homestead resort; a former estate transformed into a ski/summer resort with lots of activities. Unfortunately we didn't book in time to get slots for what we actually wanted to do but it was a very pleasant experience-especially at the shooting range.

the beautiful gardens at the homestead

i luved the hanging plates and bows;so pretty

carriages available for a carriage ride through the estate, how romantic is that ?

the place had beautiful corners with interesting colors, like this pink corner i found very sweet

my brother on the shooting range, its so much fun but only when you actually break the plates which i only did like thrice out of 20. One very bad beginner.

she rests as mommy shops, please note the bows. TDF.

la cornue stoves make my heart beat twice, @williams sonoma

at the pancake house for breakfast, morning ritual with my brothers and sister

barnes & noble;my stop after all shops are closed. I love this place, i could spend hours and hours in the interior design section.
The book on the ground is a great find about grace kelly's outstanding wedding gown- {collecting inspiration}

have i ever mentioned how much i love dean&deluca? i adore the place. They stock the best organic jams and olive oils.

dean&deluca@ Georgetown,DC.

Bethesda cobblestone street

M street.Oh how i miss it.

and bien sur, a box of Georgetown cupcakes is a must.

i do love you DC

xx,until i blog again. hopefully not so late this time!

Faster faster

To my dear blog,
I've missed you ever so much. With all the craziness going on I had really no time for myself.

Surprisingly, the only time I could find myself alone was when I got the flu.

I don't really know what flu it is, I just know its really sucking my sleep out of me.

I had so much to blog about in the last 3 months but time was always mis-managed.

So now as I try to fall asleep, a thought comes to my mind.

Do you notice how we've become such an impatient generation?

In the past, mail had to travel for weeks to arrive and no one would complain. Pictures had to be taken to professionals to be developed then collected to be seen. The internet needed to dial-up. To contact someone you'd have to ring them on a pager and wait patiently for an answer.

We now get frustrated if a message sent to a recipient on our blackberry messenger's reads R and no answer Is received for two minutes.

I am not complaining, as it has made every bit of our lives more convenient and efficient.

My only concern is what it does to our sense of patience.

If we teach ourselves to expect everything to be done in a jiffy, patience will eventually dissolve.

I sometimes wonder whether this is why youngsters nowadays have gone crazy?

The notion of patience and appreciation has disappeared all together.

Maybe sending postcards in normal mail builds up a little bit of subconscious patience that we all need at the end of the day ?

Just a thought that came to my mind.
I do need to get my sleep now, but I will make up for the last few months!

Thank you for letting me spill my thoughts :) xo

Sun blinded

So due to the fact that I've a switch automated shutter on my windows, my curtains happen to be a decorative feature. And what happens when the switch doesn't work? You get to sleep to 5 am before the sun party begins.
That's what I get for not thinking practically.
So until the maintenance guy finds a slot in his busy schedule, I struggle.
Silver lining? I don't have to close any lights post reading after my morning prayers.

to vacating

I've finally packed my bags, tucked in my heart shaped mini pouchette, bow back flats and straw hat.I'm off for summer.
It feels great after a series of stressful events to fly away and vacate somewhere.
This summer I am trying to discipline my shopping habits. Thus, note to self:only buy things you need or fall madly in luv with. Seriously, i'm not just saying.

To better shopping habits!
Until I blog again. xx :)

macaron chaussures

We all love macarons. Although i think they're more of an eye treat than a tongue treat, they are just lovely to scatter around a table or on mini plates to add that marie-antoinetteish touch to a setting.
mais do you love them enough to wear them on your feet ? i think theyd look super sweet if worn with the right outfit, and i heart the pink shoe lace.
super playful

available at zazzle via the lovely paris breakfast.

comfort is the boss

its been a while since i last put on a pair of jeans, for so many reasons:
a. its too hot
b. i decided i'm much more comfortable in leggings,velour pants,etc.
c. not fun to experiment with.
today, i slipped on a pair of jeans and couldn't bear keeping them on! The thing is, once you stop wearing them, its hard to switch back.
My number one alternative now is loose fitting cotton pants that feel like smart pyjamas.

With pants like that i could walk around forever. Do tell if you know where theyre found.

Last night we got together for a casual/surprise mini pool party for my sister B.
I set the table up with a fresh tea green colored cover, with edges i had cut in a half-circular pattern. I attached loose bows around the ends.
I scattered tea lite candles around the pool, dug up the coasters i got at Soho NYC two years ago and enjoyed the outdoor heat for a couple of hours.
Recommended if you've spent tooo much time indoors and need to get some fresh air.
I realize i've neglected my blog for sooo long, i actually missed it. xoxo

kokomo '92

for those of you who went through the trollies sing-along phase, you would understand! Its so strange how i have vague memories of my childhood, but once i play this song i remember how me and my sisters used to glue ourselves to the couch and watch this, during the troll collection era.

ive been tagged ages ago by emaratioryx for 10 things about me :

1. I love everything vintage; cars, shoes, furniture, bags, phones, hats{especially hats},and its goes on and on.
2. I sketch things that go on in my mind.{a dress,my room's furniture,etc.}
3. I'm quiet.
4. I loveeeee polaroids.
5. Tidy wardrobes are my passion.
6. I bathe in baby soap.{Pigeon to be precise}
7. I am crazy about horses, luckily my window overlooks a stable a minute away from home.
8. Bukhoor makes me happy, no matter what.
9. Jane Austen wrote my favourite stories.
10. I'm surprised at how hard it is to write ten things about myself!
